Trying out some new ideas with I think mixed results. The game has an ending and is beatable, but there is not much guidance in terms of getting there. I think the level design could be changed quite a bit in order to lead players to where they need to go, but I kind of enjoy it being open and inhospitable. I might go back and tweak or entirely rework.
Some of the ideas going into this project came from: https://matthewlacker.itch.io/adventure-manifesto
As it is the game is fairly difficult, but becomes a lot easier if you use/abuse certain mechanics. I think this is a case where certain optimal strategies are a little less "fun".
Unfortunately the web version has some delay on sound effects, but there is not a ton I can do about that.

I really enjoyed this zipline and ice breaking mechanic! I think adding some interesting things to discover in the ice caves and smoothing out the controls would make for some fun adventure! (But maybe that goes against the Adventure Manifesto.)
this kicks ass
Wow Gabe I'm a bit surprised to read about "mixed results" and this and that. You know I'm a nitpicking idiot and sure there are many things that could be improved, but I think this is really awesome XD I like so many elements and each for a different reason so I can't explain all of that here, but man this was just the kind of thing I was in the mood for.
wow what a cool little world! love the way your progress ebbs and flows as you leave behind ropes and break the terrain, and I actually really liked having to figure out what to do to win, and the arbitrary feeling level. I feel very accomplished having now beat it
